LOCATION
Chakrata does not have its own airport. Book a flight to Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport online or via airline websites. After landing, hire a taxi or take a bus from the stand or pre-book one; the journey to our hostel takes 3-4 hours.
Book a train ticket to Dehradun Railway Station. After arriving at the station, hire a taxi or cab for the 3–4-hour journey to Chakrata. Shared taxi options may also be available.
To get to Chakrata, by bus, reach Dehradun, the nearest major city in Uttarakhand, accessible by train, bus, or air with good connectivity to major Indian cities. From Dehradun, you can find buses to Chakrata. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours due to hilly terrain and winding roads, so consider booking your bus ticket in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons, and enjoy the scenic beauty of Uttarakhand during the ride.

Are there lockers in the dorms?
We provide lockers in the dormitories only. Every bed has an attached locker for guests to keep their valuables. It is advised that you carry a lock for the locker if needed. However, availing a padlock from the reception will be subject to availability and at an additional cost. It is advised that you carry a lock.

No, air conditioning is not available at the hostel.

POLICIES
The Hosteller Chakrata is family - friendly till 31 July 2024. Please Note: Guests below the age of 18 are not allowed in the dorm rooms.
Guests with local IDs are allowed.
Visitor (Non-resident guests) timings: 10 AM to 8 PM only. In case the guest wants to meet the visitor, they can do so in our waiting area or common spaces. Note, visitors are not allowed inside any of the rooms, at any time.
Drugs/Substance/Alcohol abuse is STRICTLY prohibited at all our hostels. In case anyone is found possessing or consuming drugs/alcohol during their stay, strict action shall be taken against him/her and the person would be asked to vacate the hostel immediately and would be blacklisted from staying at our hostels forever.
All our hostels have dedicated smoking areas. Smoking inside the dorms is strictly prohibited.
We cannot guarantee accommodation in the same dorm room in the case of 3 or 4 people travelling together. Allocation of a room in a specific private room category may vary depending on availability. That will strictly be subject to availability until the time of check-in.
The Hosteller's Unbox Cafe serves vegetarian options. To maintain the backpacking culture and community spirit we promote self service in all our cafes.
