8 essential tips for trekking Chembra Prak, Wayanad

1. Visit between September and February

This is the best time to trek. The weather stays cool and the views are clear. Avoid rainy months as the trail gets too slippery.

2. Don’t forget to get your permits

You need permission from the forest office. It opens at 7 AM. Carry your ID and reach early to avoid crowds.

3. Start your trek early morning

Try reaching the base by 7 AM. You’ll have more time to enjoy the view. Late entries after 2 PM are not allowed.

Bring at least two litres of water per person. Once you start the trek, there are no shops on the way.
