How to spend a day in Jaisalmer

Catch the mesmerising sunrise at Gadisar Lake. It’s an artificial lake surrounded by temples, ghats, and chhatris (cenotaphs).

Return to our hostel for a wholesome and delicious breakfast at our in-house cafe and then head out in the opposite direction for all the adventure.

Visit the Jaisalmer Fort. It is one of the largest forts in the world. The fort is built with bright yellow sandstone, also known as the Golden Fort or Sonar Quila. You can explore the fort's narrow alleys, intricate carvings, and many temples and palaces.

Things to do in Jaisalmer

Desert National Park is a protected area home to diverse desert flora and fauna. The park is known for its unique landscape. It is home to the endangered great Indian bustard and various other desert wildlife like chinkara (Indian gazelle), blackbuck, desert fox, desert cat, and different bird species.
Salim Singh ki Haveli is a mansion built in the late 19th century by Salim Singh, the prime minister of Jaisalmer. It blends the Indian and Islamic architectural styles. It has a beautiful peacock-shaped roof & numerous balconies making it a great visit.
Shantinath Temples are Jain temples in Jaisalmer, dedicated to Lord Shantinath, the 16th Jain Tirthankara. They are known for their intricate carvings and the 400-year-old statue of Lord Shantinath, adorned with precious stones and jewels.
Jaisalmer War Museum is a military museum dedicated to showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, especially during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. It exhibits various wars fought by the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force and has a display of captured enemy tanks and other military equipment.
