How to spend a day in Kareri

7:00 AM

Start your day at The Hosteller Kareri with a fresh and delicious local breakfast because you can’t start a day full of adventures without a satiated tummy.

9:00 AM

Dharamshala is home to many Buddhist monasteries; no better way to start your day than visit one of them. Go to the Namgyal Monastery, the personal monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama, located about 9.5 km from Kareri.

11:00 AM

Next, visit the Dalai Lama Complex or the Tsechokling Gompa, five minutes walking distance from your last stop to feel Dharamshala's meditative and spiritual nature.

12:00 PM

It’s time to head to the Kangra Art Museum in Dharamshala's heart. If you appreciate art and history, this place is a must-visit and worth every minute. You can experience rich Buddhist and Tibetian artworks, collections of ancient jewellery, rare coins and pottery.

Things to do in Kareri

Triund is a vast green alpine meadow, ideal for an easy hike to do over the weekend. You cannot get over the breathtaking views of the snow-clad Dhauladhar ranges.
Bhagsu Waterfall is one of the best visits in Dharamshala because of its wonderful tranquility and visual beauty. The waterfall and the surrounding greenery make for an excellent hike for hikers and rock climbers.
The Naam art gallery includes an extensive collection of paintings by German artist Elizabeth Buschmann, the gallery's creator. It also features paintings by A.W. Hallett, an English painter.
St. John's in the Wilderness Church was dedicated to John the Baptist in 1852. Stained glass windows and slabs from Belgium were used in the construction.
